The importance of safeguarding cannot be over-emphasised. All organisations with staff who have contact with families, adults at risk or children must develop a systemic awareness of the key issues, responsibilities and boundaries.

This safeguarding practice online training course gives access to four safeguarding courses in one. Covering children, adults, the designated person role and the importance of having a policy and procedures in place. This will assist with ensuring a consistent approach to safeguarding throughout your organisation.

Each course is made up of 4 lessons

This safeguarding practice online training course focuses on:

  5. Understand the legislative framework surrounding child protection.

Safeguarding designated person

  1. Understand safeguarding training requirements.
  2. Understand how to ensure that staff and volunteers are prepared for safeguarding responsibilities.
  3. Understand the on-going role of the DP with staff and volunteers.
  4. Understand the on-going role of the DP with the Local Safeguarding Board (LSB) and Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB).

Safeguarding policy and procedures

  1. Understand the safeguards an organisation must have in place to promote the welfare of children or adults at risk
  2. Understand confidentiality and information sharing in relation to safeguarding.
  3. Know how staff and volunteers can work safely with children or adults at risk
  4. Know how organisations can protect staff and volunteers when working with children or adults at risk.

Formal accreditation

£145pp + VAT (£174.00)
  • Duration/access to course materials: 12 months unlimited access
  • Place of study: Online
  • Support: Course trainer available to answer queries by email or our social media channels
  • Average time to complete: 16 hours
  • Assessment: Mini assessments at the end of each lesson, pass rate of 75% required. In addition learners must submit their learner file to their course tutor.
  • Certificate: Open College Network West Midlands certificate will be sent recorded delivery
  • Recognition: Formally accredited through Open College Network West Midlands – 4 credits
  • Payment: Pay online

In house/classroom

£1750plus travel
  • Duration/access to course materials: 2 day (12 hours) for up to 15 learners
  • Place: Venue of your choice
  • Support: Your trainer will answer any questions on the day, email support for the following week
  • Time to complete course: 6 hours
  • Assessment: Targeted questions throughout the day. If formal accreditation is requested learners will submit their learner file
  • Certificate: CPD certificate on the day. If formal accreditation is requested the certificates take approx. 1 – 2 weeks
  • Recognition: You can choose between CPD certified or a formally recognised accreditation (Formal accreditation incurs an additional cost of £40 pp)
