Ways to Stay Strong as sometimes life is painful.

A wise man names Heraclitus once said ‘The only constant in life is change’. Sometimes with that change comes stress and pain. It can take away all of your energy and resilience and stop you living a happy, successful and fulfilling life.
If you are going through a stressful or painful time right now it is time to say NO, take back control and make some changes.

By using the three strategies below, you can reduce you stress and pain….

1. Stop reliving past mistakes and stop regretting what you have or haven’t done.

You can’t change the past so accept it is part of what made you the person you are today. I know that may sound quite harsh, but if you feel you are sinking, now is as good a time as any to throw out the stuff that’s been weighing it down. Unclutter your life and clean up your space. Start with the things that are truly useless, like mistakes, regrets, shame, and anger. You must learn to let it go. You are who you are because of your past so own it and be proud. Even if you can’t be proud of your actions, be proud of the person you are. People love you, people care about you and you are special in your own individual way. You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep rereading your previous one.

2. Stop participating in unhealthy relationships.

Being alone will never cause as much loneliness as the wrong relationship, believe me I know! Be with people who know your worth and respect you. Choose to spend time with people who see the wonderful person you are. Time is precious, why spend it with people who put you down when you can spend it with people who big you up? You don’t need lots of friends to be happy, just a few real ones who appreciate you for who you are. Believe me when I tell you, walking away has nothing to do with weakness, and everything to do with strength. You must learn to walk away not because you want others to realise your worth, but because you finally realise your own worth. Why accept anything less than the best, you only have one life, make it count.

3. Reframe your own negative thinking.

When people are in the habit of negative thinking and negative self-talk I always ask them the same question. ‘Would you allow someone else to speak to you the same way as you speak to yourself?’ The resounding answer is no. If the answer is no, why do you allow yourself to cause yourself pain?!
Your mind is your sacred space. No one but you has access to it. You can close your mind and darken your space, or you can open your mind and let light in. It’s your choice.
The sun is always shining on some part of your life, however small or insignificant it may seem.
What do you typically think about?
• How far you’ve come, or how far you have to go?
• Your strengths, or your weaknesses?
• The best that could happen, or the worst-case scenario?
Pay attention to your self-talk. Because maybe, just maybe, the only thing that needs to shift in order for you to experience more happiness, more love, and more success, is your way of thinking.

You can make these adjustments starting today that will instantly help you feel better, think more clearly, and live more effectively.
I hope this has helped and good luck, happiness is just around the corner!
